Diabetes and realted complications

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose(sugar) is too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and comes from the food you eat. Insulin a hormone made by the beta cells of the pancreas helps glucose from food get into your cells to be used for energy. Sometimes your body doesn't make enough insulin or doesn't use insulin well(insulin resistant). Glucose then stays in our blood and doesn't reach our cells.

There are two types of diabetes Type I and Type II diabetes. In type II diabetes insulin occurs resistant which means insulin production of beta cells of the pancreas in sufficient but insulin not working properly from any cause line High Cholesterol Triglyceride, obesity, hypothyroid, fatty liver etc. In that condition insulin production is sufficient but not utilized properly that's why insulin accumulates in the blood at high levels that cause many complications.

High glucose in the blood leads to long-term complications such as
  • a) Diabetic cardiomyopathy - Heart disease, stroke, muscle-related problems
  • b) Diabetic Neuropathy - Nerve damage, peripheral neuropathy, sexual dysfunction & bladder problems
  • c) Diabetic Retinopathy - eye problems, blindness
